N5AU, 1981-1984 Sweepstakes CW

I was fortunate to win four SS CW titles in a row from this seat. Success was mostly due to being in the perfect spot with the antennas to take advantage of it.

The first two pictures are from 1981 or 1982.

The station set up was basically the same all 4 years.

The picture below was from 1983. That was the year "everything clicked"!

Clicked? We discovered after the contest that some FT-107M radios had horrible key clicks when the delivering full power (100W). The fix was simple, but unfortunately I drove the other occupants of 15m nuts that year with some pretty bad clicks.
